It is just that now the ministry is new and the approach to skill development is also new. Earlier the emphasis was on traditional jobs but now the emphasis will be on all types of jobs. Earlier the responsibility used to be divided among different ministries but now it is clubbed with each other. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will be the principal ministry that is going to coordinate with other ministries and organizations.

According to Namo Sarkar, Skill India is not just a program but a movement. Where those youth who are unemployed, have left college and school, and who are from rural and urban areas with educated people. Value addition will be given to all. The new ministry shall be the certification body. The certificate will be issued to those who complete a particular skill or program, and this certificate will be recognized by all public and private agencies and institutions, including foreign organizations. This skill India program is for the whole country.

Benefits of “Skill India”

The idea is to build confidence, improve productivity and provide direction through proper skill development. Skills development will make it possible for young people to find blue-collar jobs. Developing skills, at a young age, and at the right school level, is very essential in channelizing them for proper employment opportunities. There should be balanced development in all sectors and equal importance should be given to all jobs. Every aspirant job will give training in soft skills to lead a fair and decent life.
